Thai Father’s Day

December 5th is Thai Father’s Day which means a day off! This year it was on a Friday so it provided an opportunity for a three day weekend.

At school on the 4th we celebrated Father’s Day during the first two periods of the day (honestly I’m surprised it didn’t take longer as assemblies tend to take up the whole morning).

The vice principal of our school led us in a ceremony that involved lots of chanting and incense per usual. The ceremony took place on our new basketball court! An altar was setup with a photo of the king. Throughout the month of December, we wore yellow on Mondays to honor the king. For snack we had cupcakes!
