Icebergs and Ice

As we passed the Antarctic Circle, we passed by a massive iceberg. Our captain said it was a mile long and twice the size of the ship in height. It’s beauty was astounding, with a couple of small cave like areas that had been formed from waves splashing up. The formations on the sides were works of art themselves. The captain steered us around this magnificent beauty so we could see the whole mass.

Throughout the trip we came across a number of amazing ice formations.

As ice calves away from massive icebergs, it flips around in the water and small pock marks form (like a golf ball) as the waves lap at the iceberg. It will flip around in the water, creating a shiny look.
